Starbucks has gotten into the Oatmilk game! With the launch of Oatly now available as a regular menu and permanent add-on in Starbucks, they have released a brand new drink, the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. In addition to that drink they have also rolled out the new Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso as well. I tried both today.
I picked them up through mobile order and gave them both a shot! Immediately I was drawn to the toasty brown sugar scent coming out of the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. The baristas shake Starbucks Blonde Espresso, brown sugar, and cinnamon together, and then top it off with Oatmilk. It gave a nice frothy feel to the beverage. It was like floating through a brown sugar cinnamon cloud. I absolutely loved this drink. Add it to my list of favorites because it will be one I will return to for an afternoon pick-me-up!
The Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso was a bit different for me as I pretty much just tasted malt chocolate. Makes sense because the ingredients here are Starbucks Blonde Espresso, cocoa, and notes of malt. I even had a chocolate malt ball just to compare the taste of the beverage to the chocolate candy and it matches up pretty well. If you love malt balls, you’ll love this.
For me, the winner is the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. Churro fans will love this new drink as well. It launches today, March 2 nationwide along with the Iced Chocolate Almondmilk Shaken Espresso, Oatly Oatmilk, Chickpea Bites & Avocado Protein Box, and Honey Oatmilk Latte is now available nationwide.
